Emoji letter art maker
Spell big block letters with rainbow squares, hearts, toast or any character you like, then paste them into a group chat, a comment or a birthday message.
How to post emoji letters
Each letter is drawn on a grid five pixels tall, and every inked pixel becomes your emoji. Letters sit one blank pixel apart; a new line in your word starts a new row of letters.
- Draw with: one emoji or character, or several separated by spaces for a rainbow word. Two characters such as ## look squarer in monospace text.
- Background: in chat apps emoji are wider than spaces, so a square emoji such as ⬜ or ⬛ keeps a perfect grid. The wide space is one emoji wide in many fonts but not all. Plain spaces suit code blocks.
- Stack letters puts one letter under another, which reads better on a narrow phone screen.
The letters cover A to Z, 0 to 9 and ! ? . , ' " : ; - + = * _ / ( ) < > # & ♥. Accented letters use their plain shape, so é becomes E.
Questions about emoji letters
Why does the shape break on my phone?
The message is wider than the screen, so each row wraps onto the next line. Stack the letters or use a shorter word.
Why do the letters look skewed?
Your drawing character and your background are different widths where you pasted. Use an emoji background with emoji, or characters with spaces inside a code block.
Why did the rows shift after I sent it?
Some apps trim spaces at the start of a line or squash several spaces into one, which moves the rows about. A square emoji background avoids that.
